City of LA Emergency Operations CenterLos Angeles, California

The Los Angeles Emergency Operation Center (EOC) is a seismically isolated 2-story facility which houses the city’s Emergency Operations Center, the Los Angeles Fire Department’s Dispatch/Department Operations, and the Los Angeles Police Department’s Operations Center. This facility is designed to meet state and local building and seismic codes for an essential services facility and contains all communications and computer systems needed to support critical emergency management and 24/7 fire dispatch operations.

The entire facility is powered by self-contained uninterruptible power systems and standby generators if utility power is lost. Other design features allow the facility to operate self-sufficiently for days or weeks at a time, if required. The building utilizes an HVAC system with under-floor air distribution to maximize equipment cooling and occupant comfort.
