Monterey County Government CenterSalinas, California
The Monterey County Government Center was an extensive project that included programming and planning for a new 140,000-square-foot administration building, the renovation of a 97,000-square-foot courthouse building, and the renovation of a 70,000-square-foot county office building.
Planning included close coordination with PG&E to obtain utility services for the campus while segregating the services for the courthouse to allow the State of California to take over the building in the future. Also, due to budget constraints, we designed a phased renovation for the courthouse that allowed the building HVAC system to remain operational during the remodel.
